Nike Hyper Elite Platinum

by Obscura Digital
What if you could augment a real basketball court with a 3D game world where live players could interact with another reality? That question quickly evolved into a live show for the release of Nike’s eight Hyper Elite Platinum basketball uniforms. We brought the best NYC streetballers into eight fantasy worlds where they could jump off the moon and land inside 8-bit video games. They dunked off alligators, jumped through wind tunnels and even visited the devil. One of the press in attendance called the show “Basketball performance art.”

O (Omicron)

by Romain Tardy (AntiVJ)

O (Omicron)
A permanent installation directed by Romain Tardy & Thomas Vaquié
Hala Stulecia, Wroclaw, Poland.

-> Be sure to watch the making of the piece here: vimeo.com/41475403

_________________________

When opened, Hala Stulecia was the largest reinforced concrete structure in the world. With a diameter of 65m it was home to the largest dome built since the Pantheon in Rome eighteen centuries earlier.

The piece proposed for the Centennial Hall of Wroclaw is based around the notion of timelessness in architecture, and the idea of what future has meant throughout the 20th century.

Taking the 1910’s as a starting point (the dome was erected in 1913), historical and artistic references were used to reveal the architecture of the space.
By using references such as Fritz Lang’s Metropolis or the utopian projects of Archigram to confront the different visions of the future at different times, Romain Tardy and Thomas Vaquié were interested in trying to create a vision of a future with no precise time reference. A timeless future.

Red Bull Mind Meld - 3D Video Mapping the Intercontinental Hotel @ Ultra Music Festival 2012

For this year’s Ultra Music Festival, Red Bull tasked Integrated Visions Productions with producing a massive projection mapped installation on the side of the iconic Intercontinental Hotel adjacent to the Festival’s location in Miami’s Bayfront Park. The resulting projections covered approximately 20,000 square feet of the 366’ tall hotel’s north facade.

Integrated Visions created more than 30 custom 3D animation modules, integrating cultural and extreme sports footage from the Red Bull content pool into the projections. SenovvA, the technical solutions and production company that provided gear for the recent Oscars telecast, managed the projection.

Explore Your Dual World - Human Face Video Mapping

For the launch of its first 2 SIM card smartphone - Galaxy Y Duos - Samsung did something surprising: a mapped projection on an human face! This video uses exclusively the video mapping technique to build several characters on a human face. The images were projected directly over an actor, as in a canvas. This video mapping technique, seen before in spectacular projections on buildings and cars, uses in this video the human face as its single object of work.

Com va la vida, Video Mapping TV3

by Tigrelab

In 20011, TV3 produced two very special interviews featuring the scientist and broadcaster
Eduard Punset and the presenter and humourist Andreu Buenafuente. The programmes,
which generated considerable expectation and required a significant investment, consisted of
conversations between Punset and Buenafuente about a range of issues concerning everyday
life set against a video mapping projection of almost 100 m2.

Tigrelab was chosen to develop the contents of the backdrop, an audiovisual “wall” 24 metres
wide and 3.5 metres high. This reactive and continuously changing scene allowed the two men
to continue to talk comfortably whilst they were taken from place to place…from a modernist
library, to a New York building, to being surrounded by a futurist mesh created using images of
codes.

Words like love, city, brain, future formed the basis of the production that was accompanied by
live conversation. A total of 20 different spaces were created. The programme was recorded
in front of a studio audience for subsequent broadcast, allowing Buenafuente and Punset to
talk freely whilst the producer “transported” them to different scenes based on where their
conversation took them.

Tigrelab proposed an audio-reactive backdrop developed by WeLoveCode using Processing.
The system was reactive, allowing for the images to change depending on what was being
said. This broke new ground in the field of interactive set design for television. The image was
divided into two parts that were connected to left-right stereo audio, one side for each of the
participants.

The technical department created the montage for the projection and management of the
video mapping using three Barco FLM 20K HD projectors and the WatchOut 5 program,
offering considerable flexibility to the producer.

The critically acclaimed programmes were a great success, with an audience share of 22.5%.

Projection Mapping Onto Turntables

by E.N.S.

This is a projection mapping project we’ve been working on for about a month as of uploading.
It’s a user interface for Serato Scratch Live that is vinyl rotation reactive, as well as sound reactive, and makes it possible to mix using Serato without having to look at your computer screen whatsoever. We Have Real time Waveforms Streaming across our mixers, or our vinyl platters, and we have started to incorporate video effects that are controlled by wii remotes. We are also working on controlling effects with motion capturing using a camera.
Much more to come!

Engineered by Mark Morris & Bruce Lott
The Song from the video was made by one of the creators of all the cool stuff you saw in the video: Mark Morris
